Gary is a co-founder of India Alpha Capital (IAC), which collaborates with boutique Indian managers to help them expand their global reach.

 

Before establishing IAC, Gary founded Knysna Advisory, an advisory firm focused on India, where he worked with select Indian clients on M&A processes related to their family businesses.

He has traveled to India regularly for over 15 years and has built strong personal relationships with leading Indian corporate houses, promoters, fund managers, and thought leaders.

Previously, Gary served as Vice President at Tel Aviv University (TAU), overseeing development and public affairs. During that time, he launched the India-Israel Forum in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Ananta Aspen Centre.

Born and raised in South Africa, Gary holds a PhD in Government and History from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), an MA with distinction in political science from Tel Aviv University, and a BA in Social Sciences from the University of Cape Town.

Gary is married to Dorit and is a proud father of three children—Amit, Rotem, and Galia—as well as a Norwich Terrier (Toto). He is passionate about India, enjoys reading and exploring its culture, meeting people, and loves coffee. He is also an enthusiastic amateur genealogist.
