About the Program

The Water Access Catalyst (WAC) is a program of Nura Global Innovation Lab that connects Israeli water technology companies with African Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) implementing organizations. Through direct engagement across Kenya, Tanzania, and the wider East Africa region, WAC has identified a set of concrete, recurring problems that local utilities, NGOs, and implementation partners are actively looking to solve.

We are launching this call to identify Israeli companies and innovators whose technologies can address these needs, and to support the strongest partnerships through structured matchmaking, feasibility study, and pilot grants.

What We're Looking For

Based on our needs assessments and partner conversations across the region, we are looking for Israeli technologies that address issues in the following realms:

Water Quality: Filtration, treatment, and technologies that address contamination in drinking water sources including salinity, nitrates, and fluoride..
Data: Solutions for collecting and managing data around water systems, both for utilities and rural settings. This includes remote monitoring of flow, pressure and water quality, particularly in low-connectivity environments, and solutions that enable better management, oversight and decision-making.
Non-Revenue Water: Leak detection, monitoring, and repair solutions that reduce water loss, in both urban and rural contexts.
Water Installation Management: Solutions for managing and operating water facilities and installations, including maintenance, smart and prepaid metering, charging and payment systems. This also includes solutions for community tap stands and other decentralized water-access points.
Upstream Sanitation: Sanitation solutions with a direct link to safe drinking water access.
Water Logistics: e.g., transport and distribution of water and water-system materials/spare parts to last-mile and rural sites.

What WAC Offers

Selected companies will receive:

Structured matchmaking with vetted African utilities, NGOs, and implementation partners already engaged with WAC;
Access to WAC catalytic grants to support feasibility studies and pilot projects;
Reciprocal field visits between Israel and East Africa to support technical validation and relationship-building;
Fundraising mentorship and support in pursuing additional funding as partnerships mature; and
Ongoing technical and strategic guidance from the WAC team throughout the process.

Interested?

Submit a short expression of interest describing your technology and the problem area(s) above it addresses;
The WAC team will add you to the solution database that is shared with our participating organizations for expression of interest in a specific tech
Shortlisted companies are introduced to matched African POs for an initial exploratory conversation, and onboarded to the matchmaking journey - engagement preparation, introductory meetings, grant application, and field visits, where relevant
Where there is mutual interest, the partnerships can apply to calls for proposals for feasibility study and/or pilot application.

We are looking for practical, field-ready technologies - not just promising ideas - and for companies genuinely interested in the African WASH market over the long term.
